Is it for you?

Spreadsheet or budget software? A quick check.

A spreadsheet works well for many fashion brands. These two lists help you see if your team has outgrown it.

Etropo fits when

  • Two or more brands or regions each have their own budget.
  • You pay in more than one currency.
  • Ad spend runs on Meta, Google and TikTok in every region.
  • Fashion weeks, pop-ups and showrooms take deposits months ahead.
  • Finance asks for plan against actual by brand every month.
  • You reforecast mid-season after a sell-through surprise.

A spreadsheet is enough when

  • One brand, one region, one currency.
  • Fewer than 15 line items.
  • One person plans and tracks the whole budget.
  • Spend changes once a quarter, not every week.

Fashion marketing budget FAQ

How much do fashion and apparel brands spend on marketing?
It depends on the channel mix and the stage of the brand. Our industry benchmarks put retail at 5 to 9 percent of revenue for consumer brands, and e-commerce at 8 to 12 percent. Direct-to-consumer apparel brands that grow through paid social sit at the top of that range or above it. Gartner’s CMO Spend Survey puts the all-industry average at 7.7 percent of company revenue. The marketing budget calculator gives you a number sized to your revenue and growth target.
How do multi-brand apparel companies manage their marketing budgets?
One budget per brand, or one category per brand inside one budget. In Etropo each brand or region is a category with its own owner and access rights. Owners plan and track their own line items. The CMO sees every brand in one total, and the dashboards compare brands and regions side by side.
Can I plan the budget by season?
Yes. You plan a monthly or quarterly amount for each line item. The FW26 and SS27 campaign shoots, fashion weeks and pop-ups land in the months you pay for them. Budget versions hold a reforecast next to the original plan. The screens on this page compare the original plan with a growth scenario and a board-cut scenario of the same budget.
Does Etropo handle more than one currency?
Yes. Each line item has its own currency. The Toronto pop-up uses Canadian dollars and the Paris showroom uses euros. Totals roll up in your default currency at the rate you set.
Which fashion marketing channels sync their spend automatically?
Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads and LinkedIn Ads send their spend to the matching line items every day. Marketplace and creator spend, such as Zalando ZMS ads or RED KOL seeding, arrives as an invoice. You forward the invoice to your Etropo inbox, and Etropo reads it and matches it to the line item.
How are fashion weeks, showrooms and pop-ups tracked?
Each event is a line item, with the deposit and the balance in the months you pay them. The venue’s invoice goes to your Etropo inbox, where AI reads it and matches it to the line item. If an actual has not arrived by month end, the line item owner gets a reminder in Slack.
Is there a fashion marketing budget template?
Yes. Start a free trial, and Budget Buddy builds the first draft of your budget with you. It uses marketing budget benchmarks and planning knowledge from Etropo, so the draft starts from realistic numbers. The checklist on this page shows the categories and line items to expect.
How much does Etropo cost for a fashion company?
Pro is $139 a month and syncs Meta, Google and TikTok spend. A company with a separate budget per brand or region is usually on Custom: unlimited team members and line items, from $299 a month with a yearly commitment. Essential, at $89 a month, holds up to 15 line items and has no ad sync. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial.

Every brand, every region, one budget.

Plan the season with your team, and let Etropo track the spend.
