Gemini reads and updates your live Etropo budget through MCP tools

Overview

Bring your marketing budget into Gemini. Etropo's MCP server works with Gemini CLI, Gemini Code Assist agent mode, and any Gemini-powered tool that supports the Model Context Protocol, so you can ask questions, pull variance reports, and make updates in plain language — with the same permissions you already have in Etropo. Gemini never stores your budget data; it reads and writes in real time.

How it works

Ask for what you need the way you'd ask a colleague. "Show me all social media advertising spend" returns the matching line items — Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Sponsored Content — with planned and actual amounts for each month. "Which line items were over or under budget in February?" gives you a per-item breakdown with category and budget-level summaries.

Make changes without leaving the conversation. Gemini can add a line item to a category, set or update planned and actual amounts for any range of months, and — for admins — create new categories and subcategories. New items are created in draft status with you as the owner, so nothing goes live by accident.

Gemini can also answer product questions by searching Etropo's documentation, and list a budget's versions — which one is active, its target, and how many line items it holds. Everything it reads and writes applies to the active version.

Access mirrors your Etropo account: members see only the categories they have access to, admins can additionally create categories, and each person authorizes their own connection. Nobody else can use it.

Configure

Add Etropo as an MCP server in Gemini CLI or your Gemini-powered tool — the setup guide in our docs walks you through it step by step. On first use, Gemini opens a browser window to sign you in to Etropo; approve once, and Etropo's tools are ready in your conversations.
